What should a dieter know before starting the Ideal Doctors Weight Loss Method?
Although many people do not experience any discomfort and feel utterly satisfied throughout the protocol, some may experience “withdrawal” symptoms during the first few days of the diet. This is absolutely normal and should even be anticipated, especially by those who are used to consuming a lot of processed foods, sweets and salty foods.
How much water should I be drinking per day?
Drink at least 64 ounces (2 liters) of water everyday. Water is especially important during weight loss because your body tends to go through more water in the process. So, yes, you need it.
If you don’t get it, your system is not working up to its potential and you may well not get the results you’re expecting. In addition, you’ll be more susceptible to constipation, fatigue, headache, etc. It really does matter. And remember to drink additional water if you have coffee or a caffeinated beverage. (One 6-8 oz. glass of water for every coffee and/or caffeinated beverage.)
Can I drink any kind of alcohol while I am on Ideal Doctors Weight Loss?
While you are in ketosis (fat burning mode), your body uses ketones which are the by-products of losing fat and burns them as energy.
This is why you have more energy when you are in ketosis, even though you are consuming very little in calories per day. This very important process takes place in your liver. When you drink alcohol (of any kind), your liver will stop processing ketones and start processing the alcohol, which is a toxin to your body and the liver will try to eliminate it immediately. This will also stop your fat burning process!
Even though you may not kick yourself out of ketosis, you will stop losing weight for 2 to 3 days after you have consumed that alcoholic drink. The other important fact to know is that alcohol contains empty calories, meaning your body can not use it for energy. So you are putting toxins into your body which can’t be used as energy and will tax your liver all at the same time. You could even pass out from ingesting any amount of alcohol while doing this diet.
Can I use artificial sweeteners?
The simple answer to your question is yes. Generally, we suggest stevia and sucralose. We’d recommend talking to your coach about various options.
How many eggs am I permitted per day on Phase 1?

What kind of peppers can I eat while on the program?
You can enjoy all types of peppers. Just don’t burn all your taste buds off! And, all types of bell peppers can be eaten – red, yellow, and green.
Do I have to eat all 4 cups of vegetables every day?
Yes, the vegetables are very important. If you’re struggling to consume 4 cups of vegetables, check with your coach for some specific ideas on how to make sure you’re getting all the veggies you need. Make sure you’re not simply chopping up vegetables and trying to eat 4 cups of raw, crunchy veggies. Try different preparation styles and if it’s a matter of too much bulk, focus on figuring out some tasty soups or purees.
